Julia is a dedicated and empathetic social service professional with over 30 years of experience advocating for diverse families in need. She has a passion for helping individuals find self-sufficiency and improve their overall quality of life.
Most recently, Julia has helped individuals with disabilities find competitive employment in Northern Virginia. She obtained Cornell University’s Work Incentives Specialist Advocate (WISA) certification, to provide work incentives counseling services to clients who are receiving Social Security Disability. Julia also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Julia’s experience includes managing a grant-funded prevention center which conducted research and provided prevention programs to reduce health disparities and promote healthy families and communities. She also served as a Disability Analyst where she adjudicated claims for benefits under the Social Security and Medicare programs. Additionally, Julia has experience administering Medicaid Waiver assessments for persons with diagnoses of intellectual and developmental disabilities in accordance with the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) protocols.
Today, Julia continues to provide WISA services in partnership with Alive Rehab & Counseling. She is dedicated to empowering the financial wellness of individuals with differing abilities.
