Katelyn Moroney has worked with children and teens for the past 20 years. Specialized in trauma informed care, Katelyn is certified in EMDR and has a Bachelor’s degree in child and adolescent development. She is currently finishing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University in Sterling, VA. Each child and family have a journey and experience that she engages with respect and openness. Finding a path for each child from where they are to flourishing is the goal for each child. Family systems and culturally informed approaches are a current focus.
Katelyn grew up in Canada and worked in nonprofit organizations for 20 years before moving into the mental health field. Her work brought her to college campuses, international development projects in Haiti, Nicaragua and Haiti as well as projects to support inner city Communities in the United States. Her nieces and nephews are the joy of her life.
Katelyn is currently in Practicum/Internship with Alive Rehab & Counseling, LLC under the direct supervision of Janell Johnson, LPC, RPT, ACS, WISA.
